  • Installed a new air filter as needed.
  • RESET MAINTENANCE LIGHT AND MESSAGE
  • Road tested vehicle. Changed oil and filter. Lubricated chassis points (where applicable). Inspected all fluid levels and condition. Inspected battery, cables, hold down and load tested battery – passed. Performed starter draw test – within specifications. Tested charging system output – passed at 14.46v. Performed voltage drop test at battery cables and power lead. Inspected cooling system level and topped off as needed. Tested radiator cap for proper operation and pressure tested the system for leaks. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -34 and Ph level good at this time. Inspected wiper blades, washer fluid, horn and mirrors. Inspected operation of all external lights. Inspected fan belts and hoses. Inspected filters and ignition components. – found the engine air filter and the cabin air filter getting dirty – recommend replacing the filters Performed complete brake system inspection. The following is amount of brake lining remaining: Left front – 6mm Right front – 6mm Left rear – 6mm Right rear – 6mm Inspected brake hydraulic system for leaks, wear and condition of fluid. Inspected tire pressures and depth. Inspected steering and suspension components. Inspected exhaust system condition.

  • Inspected and verified the concern. Inspected and found when power was applied to the starter it started to smoke. Found the front valve cover gasket has been leaking onto the starter for some time as the starter is saturated with oil. Recommend replacing the front valve cover gasket and starter assembly.
  • Removed failed starter assembly. Cleaned connections and installed a remanufactured starter as needed. Retested and verified proper operation. Removed the necessary components and the front valve cover. Cleaned and prepared gasket surface. Installed a new valve cover gasket and reinstalled all components. Road tested and verified repair.

  • Disassembled components as necessary. Removed the cabin air filter and cleaned the housing. Installed a new cabin air filter. Removed and cleaned out the blower motor and vacuumed off the actuator. Reinstalled the blower motor. Tested and verified HVAC operation and still no noise heard.
  • Performed AAA inspection. Inspected all fluid levels and condition. – found the transmission fluid dirty – recommend a transmission flush Inspected operation of all external lights. Inspected battery, cables and hold down. Inspected wiper blades, washer fluid, horn and mirrors. Inspected belts and hoses and air filter. – found the engine air filter and cabin air filter very dirty – recommend replacing the filters – recommend a fuel induction cleaning if not done in last 30,000 miles Tested antifreeze protection – good to -34 and Ph level good at this time. Inspected tire pressures and depth.
  • Tested but we have not been able to duplicate the concern at this time. Removed and inspected the cabin air filter – found the filter basically plugged with dog hair, found dog hair inside the air box, also found dog hair on the blend door actuator. We would recommend to start by replacing the cabin air filter, cleaning out the air box, the actuator and remove and clean out the blower motor assembly.

Inspected all fluid levels and condition. – found the brake fluid dirty – recommend a brake system flush Inspected battery, cables, hold down and load tested battery – passed. Performed starter draw test – within specifications. Tested charging system output – passed at 14.35v. Performed voltage drop test at battery cables and power lead. Inspected cooling system level and topped off as needed. Tested radiator cap for proper operation and pressure tested the system for leaks. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -34 and Ph level good at this time. Inspected wiper blades, washer fluid, horn and mirrors. Inspected operation of all external lights. – replaced the upper brake light bulb as needed Inspected fan belts and hoses. Inspected filters and ignition components. – recommend a fuel induction cleaning – Hyundai recommends adding a fuel treatment every @ 3,000 miles – found the engine air filter and cabin air filter very dirty – recommend replacing both filter Performed complete brake system inspection. The following is amount of brake lining remaining: Left front – 7mm Right front – 7mm Left rear – 8mm Right rear – 8mm Inspected brake hydraulic system for leaks, wear and condition of fluid. Inspected tire pressures and depth. – rotated the tires as needed – found the right front tire at the wear indicators, the left front is 1/32" away from the indicators and the rear tires are at 5/32" – recommend replacing at least 2 tires and perform alignment Inspected steering and suspension components. Inspected exhaust system condition.
