- Performed AAA inspection. Inspected all fluid levels and condition. –Found the vehicle is overdue for an oil change. –Found the brake fluid is dirty and has a high moisture content. – Recommend a brake fluid service. Inspected operation of all external lights. Inspected battery, cables and hold down. Inspected wiper blades, washer fluid, horn and mirrors. –Found the wiper blades are worn. Inspected belts and hoses and air filter. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -60°F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected tire pressures and depth.
- Road tested and verified concern. Scan tested computer control system for stored trouble codes. Found code P0304 cylinder #4 misfire. Scope tested ignition system patterns. Tested fuel pressure – good. Searched for any related service bulletins. Removed the #4 cylinder ignition coil and swapped it with the #3 cylinder ignition coil. the misfire moved mainly to cylinder #3. Swapped the #4 cylinder spark plug with the #3 cylinder spark plug and the misfire on the #4 cylinder is gone and the #3 cylinder is consistently misfiring. Recommend spark plug replacement and replacing the #4 cylinder ignition coil. Replaced the #4 cylinder ignition coil and the spark plugs. Cleared the codes and verified the repairs on the test drive.
- Changed engine oil and filter. Lubed chassis points (where applicable). Inspected all fluid levels and conditions. Topped off windshield washer fluid as needed. Tested operation of all external lights. Inspected belts and hoses. Inspected air filter. Inspected battery cables and hold down. Inspected tires for wear and proper inflation. Tested antifreeze protection – good to – °F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected wiper blades.
- RESET MAINTENANCE LIGHT AND MESSAGE
- Installed new wiper blades as needed.
- Inspected all hydraulic components for leaks – none. Drew brake fluid from master cylinder. Flushed and bled entire brake hydraulic system until clean. Filled and bled brakes as needed. Road tested.
