  • Performed AAA inspection. Inspected all fluid levels and condition. –Found the brake fluid is dirty. – Recommend flushing the brake fluid. –Found the transmission fluid is dirty. – Recommend a transmission service. –Found the power steering rack is leaking. – Recommend power steering rack replacement. Inspected operation of all external lights. –Found the left rear turn signal out, left rear parking light out and the left brake light out. – Replaced the burnt out bulbs. Inspected battery, cables and hold down. Inspected wiper blades, washer fluid, horn and mirrors. Inspected belts and hoses and air filter. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -34°F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected tire pressures and depth. –**Found the right front axle is slinging grease and clunking. – **Recommend right front axle replacement. –Found both rear upper control arm bushings have extreme play. – Recommend replacement of both upper control arms +alignment. –Found the front stabilizer end links are clunking. – Recommend front stabilizer end link replacement.
  • Road tested and verified concern. Scan tested computer control system for stored trouble codes. Found code P0301 misfire cylinder#1 and P0304 misfire cylinder #4 (history code) Scope tested ignition system patterns. Viewed the live data stream and verified the misfire on cylinder #1 . Removed the #1 spark plug and inspected, checks good. Removed the #1 ignition coil and tested for signal from the pcm. checks good. Swapped the #1 and #3 ignition coils. The misfire followed the coil. The #1 cylinder ignition coil has failed and will need to be replaced.
  • The technician removed the failed #1 cylinder ignition coil and installed a new ignition coil. Cleared the code and test drove the vehicle. The misfire is gone. The technician found there is a tcc (transmission) shudder in third gear when the torque converter goes into lock up. This is indicative of a failing torque converter.

Tested operation of all external lights. Inspected belts and hoses. Inspected air filter. -Recommend cabin air filter replacement next visit. Inspected battery cables and hold down. Inspected tires for wear and proper inflation. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -35°F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected wiper blades.
  • RESET MAINTENANCE LIGHT AND MESSAGE
  • Inspected all hydraulic components for leaks – none. Drew brake fluid from master cylinder. Flushed and bled entire brake hydraulic system until clean. Filled and bled brakes as needed. Road tested.
  • Road tested and verified concern. Scan tested computer control system for stored trouble codes. P0171 fuel trim system lean bank 1 and P0174 fuel trim system lean bank 2 Scope tested ignition system patterns. Found the mass air flow sensor was reading below specifications at idle. Performed vacuum leak testing and found the positive crank case ventilation line was leaking air into the system causing the lean condition. Repaired the leak and cleared the codes. Verified the repair on the test drive.

  • Inspected compressor drive belt, hoses and connections. Evacuated and vacuum tested system. Found the system had no refrigerant left in it. Added refrigerant and dye as needed to perform halogen leak test. The compressor now cycles and blows cold at 38°F. Performed system checks and found traces of dye and pag oil around the compressor tube fittings. Need to replace the seals for the A/C compressor tubes and recheck the system.
  • Performed AAA inspection. Inspected all fluid levels and condition. –Found the brake fluid contains 3% or higher moisture content and should be serviced. Inspected operation of all external lights. Inspected battery, cables and hold down. Inspected wiper blades, washer fluid, horn and mirrors. Inspected belts and hoses and air filter. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -34°F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected tire pressures and depth. –Recommend fuel induction cleaning service if not performed at 60,000 miles.
  • The technician evacuated the air conditioning system. Removed all parts necessary to gain access to the A/C compressor tube seals. Removed the seals, cleaned the mating surfaces and installed new tube seals at the compressor. Reassembled all necessary parts and recharged the system. Ran and cycled the system, now blows at 38°F. Rechecked for leaks- none found. Verified the repair on the test drive.
