Services Performed
- Drained transmission fluid, removed supports and crossmembers as necessary to gain access to transmission assembly. Removed faulty transmission assembly, flushed cooler and lines. Installed replacement used transmission and torque converter assembly, filled to proper level and programmed as needed. Road tested and verified proper operation.
- Performed AAA inspection. Inspected all fluid levels and condition. Inspected operation of all external lights. Inspected battery, cables and hold down. Inspected wiper blades, washer fluid, horn and mirrors. Inspected belts and hoses and air filter. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -34°F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected tire pressures and depth. –Found the tire pressure monitoring system light is on.
- The technician verified the customers concern. The transmission will not even engage in reverse now. Performed systems checks. The transmission fluid is dark and dirty with contaminants. The reverse drum most likely failed and there is metal in the system. Recommend transmission and torque converter replacement.
