- Changed engine oil and filter. Lubed chassis points (where applicable). Inspected all fluid levels and conditions. Topped off windshield washer fluid as needed. Tested operation of all external lights. Inspected belts and hoses. Inspected air filter. Inspected battery cables and hold down. Inspected tires for wear and proper inflation. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -30°F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected wiper blades.
- RESET MAINTENANCE LIGHT AND MESSAGE
- Started the vehicle several times and verified concern. Scan tested computer control system for stored trouble codes. No codes present. Monitored PIDS ( on board diagnostics parameter ID's). all check OK. Tested starter signal and it checks good. Tapped the starter and the vehicle starts. The bendix in the starter is sticking. Recommend starter replacement.
- Removed failed starter assembly. Cleaned connections and installed a remanufactured starter as needed. Retested and verified proper operation. Road tested and verified repair.
