- Road tested and could not verify the customers concern. Scan tested computer control system for stored trouble codes. No codes stored. Scope tested ignition system patterns. Tested fuel pressure – good. Test drove the vehicle again and still no duplication. Let the vehicle run and checked on it periodically. The tachometer stopped working and the engine died. Scanned for codes and found code P0355, Scoped the sensor and found irregular signal. The sensor is failing active testing. The harness to the sensor tests good. The crankshaft position sensor has failed and will need to be replaced.
- The technician removed the faulty crankshaft position sensor and installed a new KIA crankshaft position/angle sensor.Performed active test and let the vehicle run. Verified the repair on the test drive
