Services Performed
- Changed engine oil and filter. Lubed chassis points (where applicable). Inspected all fluid levels and conditions. Topped off windshield washer fluid as needed. Tested operation of all external lights. Inspected belts and hoses. Inspected air filter. – Found the cabin air filer is dirty and should be replaced. Inspected battery cables and hold down. Inspected tires for wear and proper inflation. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -60°F and Ph level good at this time. –Inspected wiper blades. – The rear wiper blade is worn and should be replaced. The front wiper blades are worn and require replacement.
- RESET MAINTENANCE LIGHT AND MESSAGE
- Tested and verified concern. Scanned for codes and found P1604 start ability malfunction. Performed Ignition system testing. Immobilizer is reading correctly. Tested for fuel pressure. No fuel pressure is present. Performed fuel system circuit testing. Power and grounds all check good all the way back to the fuel pump control unit. Power is going into the unit but not coming out. The fuel pump will run with direct power applied. The fuel pump control unit has failed and will need to be replaced.
- The technician removed all parts necessary to gain access to the fuel pump control module. Removed the module and installed a new fuel pump control module. Reassembled all necessary components and verified the repairs on the test drive.
- Disassembled components as necessary. Removed the cabin air filter, cleaned housing and installed a new filter.
