The technician verified the customers concern. Performed inspection and found the drive belt is jumping. Performed further inspection and found the alternator shaft has excessive play causing the pulley to wobble. Upon further inspection found the air conditioning compressor stays engaged. Removed the power to the A/C compressor and it still stays engaged. Recommend replacing the alternator, A/C compressor and drive belt.
Removed serpentine fan belt and failed alternator assembly. Cleaned connections and installed a remanufactured alternator and new drive belt as needed. Reinstalled serpentine belt. Retested alternator output and verified the repair on the test drive.
Disassembled components as necessary. Removed the failed compressor, receiver dryer and related hoses as necessary. Flushed the system and installed replacement components. Charged system to the rated capacity and leak tested. Performed function test and vent tested the system.
Disassembled components as necessary. Removed the cabin air filter, cleaned housing and installed a new filter.
Installed a new air filter as needed.
