Dashboard Indicator Lights – Technician Note: P0420 three way cat bank 1 P17f0 Cvt judder (t/m inspection) C1199 vacuum booster loss detection B2428 auto back door control unit Inspected all fluid levels and conditions. –Transmission fluid is very dirty. – Transmission is due to be serviced with TSB NTB17-039J. Topped off windshield washer fluid as needed. Tested operation of all external lights. Inspected belts and hoses. Inspected air filter. Inspected battery cables and hold down. Inspected tires for wear and proper inflation. –Tires are at 4/32nds all the way around. – Recommend tire replacement soon. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -60°F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected wiper blades. – During our inspection we noticed that your wiper blades are worn and should be replaced.
  • RESET MAINTENANCE LIGHT AND MESSAGE
  • Road tested and verified concern. Scan tested computer control system for stored trouble codes. Found current returning codes P0420 three way catalyst system bank 1.- P17F0 CVT judder (T/M inspection). Performed testing for catalytic code. Fuel trims both check around 100 (within specifications). Monitored rear oxygen sensors for rapid switching. Found the Bank 1 oxygen sensor is switching rapidly indicating bank 1 catalytic converter failure. Recommend replacing the bank 1 catalytic converter. Performed inspection for P17F0. Cleared the code and the code returns in a short test drive. The transmission fluid is very dark. Searched for any related service bulletins. Found TSB Reference: NTB17-039J- CVT judder and DTC P17F1 stored. Recommend the vehicle go to Nissan for TSB to be performed.

  • Road tested and verified the concern. While running the vehicle on the lift, we have traced the noise to both rear wheel bearings. Recommend replacing the rear wheel bearings and retest.
  • Performed AAA inspection. Inspected all fluid levels and condition. Inspected operation of all external lights. – found both front marker lights, both license plate lights, both brake lights and the left rear tail light all to be out – recommend replacing all these light bulbs Inspected battery, cables and hold down. – noticed the battery is leaking – recommend replacing the battery Inspected wiper blades, washer fluid, horn and mirrors. – recommend replacing the rear wiper blade Inspected belts and hoses and air filter. – found the engine air filter and cabin air filter dirty – recommend replacing both filters Tested antifreeze protection – good to – 60°F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected tire pressures and depth. – recommend a tire rotation based on wear
  • Disassembled components as necessary to gain access to the wheel bearing assemblies. Cleaned the area and installed 2 new rear wheel bearing/hub assemblies. Reinstalled all components.. Road tested and verified the repairs.
  • Removed all the necessary components to access all the burnt out light bulbs. Installed new light bulbs as needed. Tested and verified all the bulbs are now working. Reinstalled all components.

Inspected cooling system level and topped off as needed. Tested radiator cap for proper operation and pressure tested the system for leaks. Tested antifreeze protection – good to -60°F and Ph level good at this time. Inspected wiper blades, washer fluid, horn and mirrors. Inspected operation of all external lights. Inspected fan belts and hoses. Inspected filters and ignition components. Performed complete brake system inspection. The following is amount of brake lining remaining: Left front – 7mm Right front – 7mm – Passenger front caliper had cordage wrapped in it. Removed the majority. Left rear – 5mm Right rear – 5mm Inspected brake hydraulic system for leaks, wear and condition of fluid. Inspected tire pressures and depth. Inspected steering and suspension components. Inspected exhaust system condition.
